Update on our Upcoming Pastoral Transition

As most of you know by now, Preacher Won will deliver his final sermon as Pastor of our church on Sunday, June 25th. The following Sunday, July 2nd Pastor Jane Leechford will join us as our new Pastor.

Your Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) has been actively involved in assisting Preacher Won and Mee Young in planning their relocation as well as developing plans to facilitate the transition to our new Pastor. A welcoming reception is being planned for Sunday, July 2nd. This will provide an opportunity for Pastor Jane and her congregation to meet in a relaxed social setting. For those who have name tags please be sure to wear them and for those who don't have a name tag, temporary tags will be provided. More details relating to the reception will follow as time draws nearer.

In addition, in an effort to begin the process of aligning our new Pastor with our church missions, as well as our visions, goals and dreams for the future, small group meetings will begin in early July. Each of these meetings will include 15-16 members from the congregation, Pastor Jane and a representative from SPRC. Details will be provided in a future article as to how and where you may sign up for a meeting, along with a list of questions we will request each attendee come prepared to discuss. Also, individual home visits will be scheduled with seniors and shut ins where required.

Thank you for your support in our efforts to say good bye and thank you to Preacher Won and Mee Young and to say welcome to Pastor Jane and her husband Bob.

A huge thank you to all who cooked, baked, set up, took down, cut cake, sold and collected tickets, set food out, swatted flies, washed and dried dishes, made tea, and arranged flowers (did I forget anyone?).  With our profit of over $1,200 this year, we will support local ministries every month, buy bibles for graduates, and also donate some to the Food Pantry.  Thank you all for your help and dedication in support of the United Methodist Women.
